Installation Disclaimer
AGREEMENT FOR PROVISION AND INSTALLATION OF THE GUARDSMAN BARRIER BY Engineered by Zicam:
1. Engineered by Zicam has made every attempt to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the positioning of the product using the instructors (purchaser) guidance for identifying the install position within their home.
2. Owner takes full responsibility for the instructed location of the installation. If this then falls onto someone else’s property Engineered by Zicam takes no legal or financial responsibility for removal.
3. Engineered by Zicam completes works based on the understanding and assumption that the instructor (purchaser) has the necessary legal rights to the property and install position.
6. The instructor (purchaser) gives Engineered by Zicam permission to drill holes of various width and depth, as mentioned in statement 5, in order to securely install the product purchased.
7. Engineered by Zicam takes no responsibility for any damage incurred when drilling these holes and the instructor (purchaser) must ensure, to the best of their knowledge that the ground is of sufficient quality to be drilled to a depth of 100mm and the wall is of sufficient quality to be drilled to a depth of 50mm and both can support the weight of the product, up to 25kg.
8. If the structure fails beyond the scope of the install, Engineered by Zicam will not take responsibility for corrective action required.
9. The instructor (purchaser) takes full responsibility for ensuing a one metre radius is cleared and allowed in order for the product to be installed in its chosen position within the dwelling. Any object encroaching within this radius may need to be removed prior to installation. If this is of significant weight, size, and thus would take a significant amount of time to be removed, Engineered by Zicam retains the right to cancel the install and have this re-booked once the object/s have been removed. This would come at an additional cost to the instructor (purchaser).
10. The instructor (purchaser) gives Engineered by Zicam permission to photograph the install area both before and after installation has taken place. These photographs will be securely kept on record indefinitely.
PURCHASER GUARANTEE:
1. The purchaser is entitled to a full 2 year guarantee on both the strut/piston and barrel lock and a full 2 year guarantee on all mechanical parts produced by Engineered by Zicam – these include the telescopic barrier arm, pivot action and both receiving and blocking arm posts. If these items were to fail within the specified time then these would be replaced free of charge by Engineered by Zicam by contacting them through their website www.engineeredbyzicam.com . If outside of this time frame these can be purchased at a cost to the customer. Installation of bought items would be the responsibility of the purchaser.
WAIVER:
2. Engineered by Zicam is not responsible for any items stolen from the property following the installation of one of Engineered by Zicams products.
4. The blocking arm structure will bend if force is applied, such as sitting on the barrier arm when in the downward locked position. This does not impede the security of the product however this will affect the telescopic motion. Engineered by Zicam will not be responsible for correcting the blocking arm structure if the product has not been used as intended.
7. Over time the product may rust due to the environment it is kept within. This rusting is a natural process and will not impact the security of the barrier. Engineered by Zicam will not be responsible for correcting this change.
CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS:
Purchaser is to agree the below prior to install –
1. To read and agree the above Installation Disclaimer, Purchaser Guarantee and Waiver.

1. A responsible adult is available at the time of install to confirm the installation location.
Purchaser is to ensure the below –
1. Not to use the product for 24 hours after install to allow the resin to fully harden.
Engineered by Zicam will ensure all personal details are kept safely and securely in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations 2018.
CUSTOMER INSTALLATION DISCLAIMER:

GUARDSMAN BARRIER:
1. The Engineered by Zicam installation disclaimer points made above: ‘Agreement for provision and installation of the Guardsman Barrier by Engineered by Zicam’ are also relevant to the customer installation, only re-worded to be directed at the customer.
2. The customer takes full responsibility and ownership for the outcome of their install. If the installation instructions and install video are not followed then Engineered by Zicam will not be held responsible. All details of the instructions are vital to the success of the install and it is the customer’s responsibility to read, understand and implement each step accurately.
4. If the customer does need assistance then they can book an install through Engineered by Zicam however any damage caused to the Guardsman due to incorrect installation being carried out or if any additional materials are needed to complete the install, such as new fixings, these will be charged to the customer at the relevant cost. This will be communicated prior to works being carried out.
5. If however any fixings fail the customer needs to contact Engineered by Zicam to order a replacement which will be delivered promptly and free of charge.
6. If the Guardsman arrives damaged please contact Engineered by Zicam to discuss the best solution. Engineered by Zicam reserves the right to request photographic evidence of the damage. Engineered by Zicam will act promptly in order to try and resolve the issue.
